Knorr Thanksgiving Cravebox

Yesterday I received this small little package in the mail from Cravebox. Since I signed up and was chosen for the Knorr Thanksgiving Cravebox I was expecting to receive something in the mail from them, but this small? You’ve got to be kidding right?

What could possibly be inside?

Then I remembered this email I received from them…

Howdy Cravers!
We’re excited to hear what you think about your Knorr® Ultimate Thanksgiving Cravebox. If you haven’t received it yet, you will get your box very soon, right in time for turkey day.

We also wanted to let you know that an error was made when packing some of the boxes, and your box was one of those boxes. Instead of receiving a sleeve of 4 Knorr® Concentrated Chicken Stock tubs, your box was incorrectly packed and you only received one loose tub. This was straightforwardly a packing error on our part. So, as always, we will make it right. You will be receiving a separate shipment from us in a couple of days that contains the 3 additional tubs of Knorr Condensed Chicken Stock that we should have sent you originally. This separate shipment will definitely arrive before Thanksgiving.

We are so sorry for the error! Please enjoy your Knorr® Ultimate Thanksgiving Cravebox, and have a wonderful holiday. Crave on!

Sincerely,
Kitty Kolding
CEO, Cravebox

It’s three concentrated packages of chicken stock from a four pack sleeve! The funny thing is that this arrived before I received my actual Cravebox (which I have yet to receive)! I think it’s great that Cravebox made things right by sending us the missing Knorr stock that we were supposed to receive.

One thing I was disappointed about is that we also received an email from Cravebox saying we were supposed to receive a coupon for International Delights creamer but due to issues we would not be receiving them and they would be used in another Cravebox instead. Overall though, I’ve been happy with Cravebox and what I expect to receive in my Thanksgiving box (I’ve already checked all the spoilers). My first box was the Book Lover’s Cravebox and it did not disappoint. If you’re interested in signing up for Cravebox there are a few upcoming boxes that you may be interested in. Each box has its own theme and you enter a lottery to see if you are selected. If selected, your credit card is then automatically charged (based on the card you have on profile) and you receive your box in the mail. If you’re interested in signing up for any of the upcoming boxes below, visit the Cravebox website and sign up for an account. You can click on the “notify me” links on the website and they will send you an email letting you know when the drawing is open to enter.

Are you signed up for Cravebox?

To Spoil or Not Spoil?

As a subscriber of multiple subscription box services, I’m always faced with the dilemma of whether or not I should look for spoilers. Here’s a few of the issues I face:
1.     I live in Hawaii. Shipping takes forever since distribution is always from the continental U.S. For example, even though my Birchbox is always one of the first to ship (which I think they do intentionally since I live so far away) I am always one of the last ones to receive it. The wait kills me (dramatic much?) especially since I know everyone else already received theirs, thus upping the ante on the spoiler factor.
2.     The blogs I regularly read post reviews of their subscription boxes. Bloggers regularly post reviews of their boxes. For boxes like PopSugar this is an issue for me since all the boxes are the same. For Birchbox, not so much since there are so many different box combinations. (This is another issue for a later post.) If I wanted to avoid spoilers, I would also need to avoid these blogs until I receive my box.
3.     The users I follow on Instagram post pictures of their subscription boxes. See: #2.
4.     I am an impatient person. Bottom line: I’m impatient and have no sense of control when it comes to spoilers. As soon as I find out via a MakeupTalk post or Google search that someone received their box and spoilers are available, I find some way to justify why I should look.

I think for now I've come to the conclusion that I will continue to check for spoilers since they are so unavoidable. I'm most looking forward to the PopSugar Must Have Luxury edition box. I can't wait for spoilers on that one!

If you subscribe to subscription boxes do you look at spoilers? If you don't are there any subscription boxes you are interested in?

My First Blog Post!

As my inaugural blog post, I thought I'd start things off by telling you a little about myself...

Who am I? My name is Jill and I'm a 20-something year old living in Hawaii. I currently work full time  doing mostly marketing and product management work. I also go to school part time in the evenings to get my MBA. After I finish my degree I will be done with school. Forever. As in, I'm never going back. Why I decided to go back to school in the first place is beyond me. I'll save that for another blog post.

Some random facts about me:

1. I cry in almost every movie I see - I think this started when I was around 5 years old and my parents took me to see Beauty and the Beast at the movie theater. Scariest freakin' movie I have seen to date. I cried through the whole thing because the beast was so dang scary. Except at the end when he turns into a human and I thought he was way better looking as a beast. Recent movies I can think of that I cried my eyes out: Marley and Me, Hachi, War Horse. Surprisingly all movies about animals and I don't have, nor have I ever owned a pet, save for fish which don't really count in my book.
2. I hate scary movies - OK, I was probably exaggerating juuuuust a little when I said Beauty and the Beast was the scariest movie I have ever seen. "Saw" and "Wrong Turn" were for real scary. I don't know why I subject myself to these scary movies. Peer pressure. Damn you teenage years!
3. I love Japanese food. Is that random? Probably not since I am full Japanese.
4. I was born and raised in Hawaii. I also spent 4 years living in Spokane, WA going to college but decided to return home after I graduated as the Pacific Northwest was just not the place for me. One word: snow.

Why am I blogging? I decided to start a blog mostly as a means to chronicle my life from this point forward. Someday I want to look back on these blog posts and remember my last years as a 20-something. I also started reading a lot of blogs regarding product and subscription box reveiws. This got me addicted to subscription boxes so I thought, why not write my own?

Before I started this blog, I asked the boyfriend who shall heretofore be known as Peanut Butter (PB, for short) if it would be weird if I started a blog. He said no. So here I am. I actually wanted to name my blog "Peanut Butter and Jilly" but since I am relatively late to the blogging game that name was taken. Coming up with a blog name was probably the hardest part about starting this here bloggy.

What am I going to blog about? Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Oh, there's something else out there that already covers that? Well, I'll probably be blogging about a bunch of random shiz including everything and anything. I'll most likely blog about everything I love: family, friends, PB, food, shopping, etc. I do not love my job, therefore I will not blog about it.

So I read this thing that you should always end your blog with a question in order to encourage reader response. So here goes, do you have a blog? If so, leave a link in the comments because I'd love to check it out!
